Security is not an add-on
Security work is built into how we run environments rather than sold as a separate project later. Our baseline follows the ACSC Essential Eight.
About Apex Cyber
Most IT problems are not exotic. They come from work that was rushed, undocumented, or quietly left undone. We built Apex Cyber around not doing that.
Why we exist
Businesses tend to arrive at us in one of two states. Either they have outgrown an arrangement that worked when they were smaller: a relative who set things up, a one-person consultant who is now unreachable. Or they are with a larger provider where they have become a ticket number.
Both leave the same residue: undocumented systems, security that was never finished, and nobody who can give a straight answer about what is actually running. Our work usually starts with untangling that.
How we operate
Security work is built into how we run environments rather than sold as a separate project later. Our baseline follows the ACSC Essential Eight.
Your environment is written down and kept current, and that documentation belongs to you. No critical knowledge living in one person’s head.
A real support line during business hours and after-hours cover under agreement. You should never have to wonder whether anyone saw your request.
Response and resolution targets live in your service agreement, so expectations are set before something goes wrong rather than after.
We are based in Melbourne and attend sites across Victoria when a problem genuinely needs someone in the room.
We restore from backups on a schedule, so recovery is a rehearsed procedure rather than an assumption you find out about during an incident.
Our approach to security
The Australian Cyber Security Centre’s Essential Eight gives Australian businesses a practical, measurable baseline: application control, patching, macro settings, hardening, admin privilege restriction, multi-factor authentication and backups.
We use it as the reference point for assessing where a client sits today and what to lift next. It keeps security discussions concrete: you can see your current maturity, and you can see what moving up a level involves.
Tell us what is working and what is not. We will give you a straight assessment of where the risk sits and what it would take to fix.
